VICTORIA COAST (EAST)
boardwalks so you are able to just stand and watch while the penguins reunite themselves with their partners or their young, or just preen themselves after a hard days fishing. These little creatures have busy lives and they travel great distances each day and face many dangers, so it was an absolute dream to see them returning home safe and sound. We left after a total of around 3 hours and we left with a memory that will last forever. What a day this had been, a definite wildlife bonanza, for two nature softies we were in heaven. Phillip Island had more than surpassed itself, life doesn’t get much better than this - how lucky we are.

We woke the next morning feeling like we’d had a lie in, something which we hadn’t experienced for a long time, we looked at the clock and yeap it was definitely a lie in - must have been all of 9 am but this is the new us and lie-in’s don’t get much later than
this!!!

On today’s agenda was the last of the things to do which was included in our pass - Churchill Island Heritage Park. Basically it was an oldie worldly kind of place, with an old house and lovely English gardens!!! It was quite strange walking round these as you were very much reminded of home! They also had a couple of beautiful Clydesdale horses, a few pigs, goats and sheep. It was all very pleasant but a bit dull, so we headed off round the coast to Woolamai beach. This was a gorgeous long sweeping beach with great surf and lots of coastal walks. It was a lovely sunny day so we headed off on one of the longest coastal walks, it was really beautiful and great to be out walking. The walk was a good two and half hours so we really felt like we’d had a stretch of the old legs. After this we headed back to the campsite to take full advantage of the free indoor heated swimming pool.
