BACK TO SAN FRANCISCO
posse!
After a few hairy driving moments we found ourselves outside the arrivals terminal at LAX. We said our thank yous and goodbyes to Chris then headed into the airport to try and find the correct terminal. We found the terminal then decided we were hungry so headed off in search of food. We then headed back to the terminal to check on the flight status and were expecting a lengthy wait for them all to get through immigration, but to our delight they were waiting by the meeting point. I caught Andy’s eye then the next minute we see Cath running towards us and then it’s hugs all round and everyone is here! WOW it was great to see everyone, I can’t stress enough that it’s so brilliant travelling but boy do you miss people! Everyone looked well, especially Andy so we all seemed to skip out of the airport in search of the Budget Car shuttle bus.

The first three people carriers that Budget offered us were rejected as they weren’t big enough for the 6 of us plus all of our luggage. After seeing the manager I asked if we could have the Dodge Grand Caravan that was parked up as it was the only one with any kind of luggage room and it also had the added bonus of it having a roof rack. After going to check no one had booked it, the manager came back and said “no problem Ma’am” - phew! After packing 6 lots of personal luggage, 2 lots of camping stuff, hand luggage and 6 people we found ourselves slightly quashed but heading off in the direction of Santa Monica. Thankfully we didn’t get lost on the way back to Santa Monica. The mini-van as the American’s call them was quite big and I wasn’t exactly sure about driving in LA, let alone driving a massive people carrier!!
