BACK TO SAN FRANCISCO
can be! The ice-creams were enormous and one would have fed two of us, but we all struggled on and mostly managed to scoff the lot! We then headed back into town as the farmers market would be in full swing by now and we wanted to pick up some supplies for our epic drive up the coast the next day. Wow! It seemed longer than a week since we had last been there, but the produce was equally as good and the samples were equally as big and plentiful! After a good look round we decided to head back to the hotel. Later on Rob and I went out and bought take out pizzas for everyone and a good supply of beer and wine! Tonight everyone was feeling more lively and we sat on the balcony of our room chattering and drinking away. There were stories galore from Eddie in particular which made for a very funny evening!

Nobody except Cath knew there were seals there so it made a nice surprise for everyone. The coast was again looking magnificent and it was getting better the further north we were going. Thankfully the drive to Big Sur after our lunch stop wasn’t too long and before we knew it, we were pulling into Fernwood campground and motel. Sue and Eddie’s motel from the outside looked as if it had seen better days but was thankfully fine on the inside, which I guess is all that matters. Our allocated campsite didn’t pass our suitability test and we requested another one, which we got no problem. It was a very small site but did the job for one night. We didn’t have enough food to cook for everyone so checked out
