NEW YORK CITY
a take away later on and my god it was the biggest take outs I have ever seen! One portion would have fed the two of us, it was huge! We made a start on packing but were pretty tired so decided to have an early night and finish packing in the morning.

We were up, packed and breakfasted by 10.00 a.m. Our flight wasn’t until 22.05 which meant that we had time for one last trip into the city. The only thing was that it was raining, our luck had finally run out with the weather but we were feeling rather smug as our next stop was sunny Rio! We headed back to Times Square and got what travellers cheques and cash we could. We checked the internet as the Rio - Iguazu Falls flight information hadn’t come through when we had left the hostel. We were keeping everything crossed that we would get the email, otherwise our plans to fly to sunny Rio may be thwarted!


We thought it may be a nice to have a curry before leaving New York, as we reckoned that it would be a long time before we had one again. We found a great place serving a buffet lunch so stuffed ourselves silly on our last all you can eat buffet!

We then headed down to the free Metropolitan Museum and had a brief look round. Wow this was a wonderful museum and we could have done with a day to do it justice. Time was ticking by though and we needed to get back to the hostel. We had booked a airport transfer with the hostel due to us flying out from Newark airport which is a real pain to get to on public transport. The driver was late and the weather by now was atrocious, but we had allowed ourselves plenty of time, so we weren’t too worried.
