JOBURG, NELSPRUIT & BLYTHE RIVER CANYON
included breakfast we called a taxi to take us there but were then offered a lift - bonus as taxis around here are expensive!!
At the entrance to the car park we saw the ultimate in job creation - a guy standing by the automatic ticket machine pressing the button and passing the tickets into people’s cars. Yet another example of black people here being given the most menial jobs possible. The mall wasn’t too impressive but Hel did manage to get her pants and we stocked up on some food and things which we needed. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a guide book to Southern Africa in any of the bookshops - one said they could order it in but obviously that was no good. And when we found out the price we were a little shocked. So we headed to an internet café and ordered it with express delivery from Amazon to be sent to Mike. Even with £7 delivery it still worked out cheaper than buying it here

- assuming you can find it of course!! We had a quick chat with Mike on Skype and then it was time to get a taxi home.
Proper veggie-burgers were something we’d not seen in South America - they were always these cardboard-like soya things - yuk!! So that night we feasted on veggie burger, jacket spud and tinned spaghetti - heaven!!! I treated myself to a hot bath as I was also starting to feel full of a cold. Must have done the trick though because both of us slept for a rather long time and woke up having missed breakfast!!
After having to make our own breakfast, (what a chore!!) I realised that the one thing we’d forgotten to buy for our celebration braai was a bottle of bubbly. So I headed out to the local bottle shop and found one - it was really cheap as well so I was
