JOBURG, NELSPRUIT & BLYTHE RIVER CANYON
hoping for the best!! We spent the rest of the day doing photos, diaries, washing and hair straightening. (Ok, so the last bit was just Hel!!). Later on we had some wine so figured that our colds were definitely on the mend.
Well the day had finally arrived - it had been two years since the day that we boarded the plane to Copenhagen with my Mum, Dad, Pauline and Roland. Hard to believe really - it seems like such a long time in some ways, but so short in others. I was repairing a small database issue with the website the other day and had to read part of one of our China diaries to see where it was from as the title had got lost. It really does seem like so long ago it’s hard to believe that it’s still the same trip. On the other hand it means that we’ll be home before we know it, and whilst it will be good to see everyone it will certainly take some getting used

to!!!
Our Braai was just fantastic - we had culinary treats galore grilled to perfection washed down with a very fine bottle of bubbly!! The worry over it’s cheapness was for nothing!! I’d also bought a bottle of white and we still had some of our box left so after the braai was finished we made a fire and reminisced for many hours!! In fact at around midnight we had become a little carried away with our merriment and were politely asked by the owner to keep the noise down as the neighbours had complained!!
The next day we obviously felt a bit delicate but we managed to pick up our hire car, do some food shopping and then make it to our hostel in Hazyview, around 40 km north of Nelspruit, and closer to the Kruger gate where we were going with Mike. Our Hazyview hostel was pretty basic but right out in the countryside so we were happy.
