TIGER LEAPING GORGE
you will be completely knackered by the time you’ve finished!

Before the start of our 2 hour hike to Mr Nice’s Guest House where we were staying the first night, we needed to get some lunch. We found a little eating place at the very beginning of the path and stopped there, some people went to another place as they find it hard to cope with cooking for 13 people they can do it but it just taking far too long. The place looked a bit grotty from the outside but then so do a lot of places but the food was scrumptious and was they cooked the best fried rice that we’d had so far! Mr Nice our Naxi family host met us at the beginning of the hike to his place, it is the best name he could possibility have, he is so nice its unbelievable, his English isn’t great but then again my Chinese is rubbish so it was smiles all round, in fact he just smiled the whole time we say him, then again if I lived
where he did I’m be smiling all day long! So we were ready to start our first hike and guess what the lovely Mr Nice was carrying and continued to carry for the whole hike a rolled up mattress! He carried the thing the whole way, was in front the whole way and looked the least knackered out of all of us, oh yeah and he was wearing a suit jacket and footwear that looked like slippers - mad!

It was quite a strenuous 2 hour hike but the scenery was incredible, the rain had subsided somewhat and we were starting to get glimpses of the true natural beauty of the place - it was awesome and I felt so lucky and privileged to be walking through this visually stunning landscape. The paths were quite muddy because it had been raining so hard so it was fairly hard going but as we neared Mr .Nice’s the mud turned into what can only be described as Glastonbury mud!
