TIGER LEAPING GORGE
Tina’s was in sight, a funny name we thought for a Chinese guest house but who were we to reason why! On seeing Tina’s in the distance it seemed to give us a lift and put a bit of spring back into our step, and it wasn’t too long before we were on the final decent. There was tea waiting for us so we fell onto our wooden chairs, drank a cup or two of tea and it was then that we realised how tired our bodies actually were, so we decided the only thing to combat this and reward ourselves was to have an ice cold beer - I am a fully converted beer drinker it has to be said, although 2 or 3 is my limit as they are really big bottles here! I don’t know whether it was tiredness or what but wow did that beer hit the spot I felt quite tipsy after only one and knew that it was time for a shower before anymore drinking! The showers were in with the squatter toilets which nobody thought was ideal but that was soon forgotten as you found yourself stood under a really hot and powerful shower - pure bliss, my body
was starting to like me again! I had a lie down while Rob went for his shower and what a mistake, how much did I not want to move when it came time to meet everybody for dinner, it was only Rob’s gentle but firm persuasion that forced me out of my pit and down for something to eat Everybody was in good spirits and pleased with themselves after the days hiking and yeap you guessed it the beers started flowing and going down all to easily! There was the cutest little puppy at Tina’s that was in its element getting loads of fuss from us all, the food arrived and was demolished fairly quickly, I’m sure you can picture the scene! More beer flowed and the louder the conversation got, it was the first time everybody had really been together and had a good old drink and laugh, don’t get me wrong we had all been out together but this night seemed a little bit different somehow, everybody was truly relaxed and up for a good laugh and boy did we laugh, it was a really good
