VANG VIENG
sunny day and we felt very good about life. It was time to head into town for a spot of brunch then head out into the countryside for a walk to the local caves.

We ended up walking or should I say climbing up Papoak Karst, which is a very steep rocky hill. Andy you would have been proud of us! Of course the kids that accompanied us trotted up it barefoot and with ease, whereas I struggled at some points and I found that it did require a lot of nerve. There were also lots of bars set up on a stretch of the river nearest to the town, which were great to see, as there were loads of people splashing around in the river and generally lounging around listening to the sound systems which were blasting out happy tunes! It really was a fun place, some may say that it is not traditional Laos and tourism is spoiling it and yeah that could be true, but what is also true is that it is a really lovely place to find a load of similar minded people, who just want to have a bit of fun in a beautiful part of the world. And what is also heart warming is that whilst having that fun everybody appears
