VANG VIENG
like a handbag!!! The cave was unlit (Stu you would have been proud of us!) and very slippery! But our guide was patient and didn’t mind that we took our time, and he was very informative and friendly. The cave was amazing, the rocks really did sparkle in the torch light and some of the stalagmites were very impressive. It took about 20 minutes to get to the main cavern which was huge and the echo was wicked. From here you could carry on up to a lagoon, but this took a further hour and we didn’t really have the time, as it would have been really dark by the time we would have finished and we didn’t really fancy our changes of finding our way back to town in the dark!
On the way back to our bungalow we stopped in at the town as we wanted to go tubing the next day. We had seen signs for it everywhere but there only seemed to be one place that hired out the tubes, so we went to check it out.

Basically you just needed to turn up there around 10-11 and after paying your 2 quid you got a tuk tuk up the start point and that was it!
We woke up fairly early as we wanted to get breakfast before our day’s tubing! We headed into town grabbed a couple of baguettes and a glass of the ever-delicious mixed fruit shake and that was it we were ready! Neither of us had ever done tubing before but we figured it would be more fun than difficult, so we headed down to the tubing office and go sorted with our tube! It took around 15 minutes in a tuk tuk to get to the start point and we weren’t alone! There was a very large group of Korean looking older people, so we decided to let them head off first and we would wait a good 10 minutes before we started!
Rob got off to a flying start
