that had changed since the guide book was written, but the tour around the museum was free and the beer was cheap rather than daft prices so we figured it could be worse. It was interesting walking around but it wasn’t very big so we found ourselves at the first beer tasting bar in no time at all. We got a sampler, which was 3 half pint-ish sized glasses of 3 different kinds of beer, there was the normal larger, then a dark beer and a malt beer. They were all good and I was surprised that I even liked the dark and malt ones, the normal larger was my favourite though! After our little taster we pressed on with the tour, which basically took you through the last part of the museum and was showing mainly posters and advertising stuff, then we came to the large beer room. Again we decided to stop and have a glass or two as there were a few more different beers to try. By the end I think we had sampled every beer that they made, and as they were only smallish glasses we were still able to walk in a straight

It was starting to get dark and you really didn’t want to hanging outside due to the cold so we headed back to the hostel. We got back and found out we had the telly to ourselves so after dinner we settled down on the sofa to watch a film - The Recruit with Al Pacino and Colin Farrell, it was a top film.
We had thought that we would only have 2 full days as we wanted to head back to Tokyo and try and get a new zoom lens for the camera. We were both amazed to find that camera equipment is loads cheaper in Japan and the lens we wanted was £100 cheaper than anywhere else we’d seen it. After chatting to Cindy, an Aussie girl who’d been living at the hostel since October, told us that she reckoned it would be the same price here as in Tokyo. So we thought we’d
