3 trains in total so it wasn’t like we were just going to have to sit in the same seat for 10 hours! We said our goodbyes and had our photo taken for the hostel wall and headed out into the deep snow for the last time. It was hard work carrying all of our stuff with about 5 layers of clothes but hey I guess no-body will feel in the slightly bit sorry for us, and I cant say as I blame you, it still beating working hands down!!!
Thankfully our trains weren’t delayed and we got back to Tokyo feeling more refreshed that we thought we would. We had booked into the same hostel so it was just a case of getting there around 9.30 - 10.00 p.m. then heading off around 5.30 a.m. the next morning.

So that was it, our trip to Japan was over. Although our budget would not have allowed it, we
both said that we could have easily spent at least a couple months travelling there. We really did feel that we had only skimmed the surface of a few places and Japan so deserves to travelled more extensively. We really did decide before we went there that we wanted to check out the wilds of Hokkaido rather than do the more cultural Kyoto or significant peacetime Hiroshima but I really wished we could have done it all, but Malaysia was calling and it was time to move on.
