would all have been proud of her!! It was very mad to be so high up in the trees, but it did feel very safe - there were ropes all the way up to shoulder height, so you did feel very secure!! The sections of the walkways went between these little platforms on the bigger trees, and they were totally solid, so there were lots of breaks!! It really did feel like another world for a while though, and it took almost an hour to get round it. All in all a fantastically exhilarating experience!!

Speaking of exhilarating, the next item on the agenda was rapid shooting. We weren’t quite sure what to expect from this, other than that a girl we’d spoken to on the first night who left that morning had said that when they said wear wet clothes, they meant it!!!! We’d noticed on the journeys on the boat so far, that when they came to the rapids in the river they really slowed down. We soon found out why!!

When the boats hit the rapids at high speed the water shoots up over the sides!! And with a little help from Ajax’s strategically placed hands directing the water, we were soon all absolutely drenched!!!! The poor French ladies who’d re-done their make-up and hair soon started looking rather be-draggled!!! It was great fun though, and we even got to have a bit of a swim on a beach upstream from our camp!!

By this time we were exhausted from the day’s events, and we realised why the set meals were so big - we were starving after all the day’s activity, and pretty exhausted!! I think we got a pretty early night that evening!!!
