NORWEGIAN COASTAL VOYAGE

The other highlight of the day was our midnight concert in Tromso’s Arctic Cathedral! It was amazing but there was so much pushing and shoving with the olds to get off the boat, one of them had a fall, right in front of Rob, he says he didn’t trip them up honest! The Cathedral was wicked and very modern, the concert was top, didn’t have a clue what they were singing about but it didn’t really matter. There were 2 lady choir/folk type singers, a bloke on a fugal horn then a trumpet an a bloke on a piano, they did a cover of amazing grace at the end and it was that enhancing that it made all the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Gary you’d have loved it.

Rob forgot his i-river and its microphone though, he wanted to record it as he had a plan to knock out a few bootleg cd’s once we got back on the boat!!! Ace views over the harbour as well, the midnight sun wasn’t exactly
out but the sky had a wicked orangey glow to it!

Sweet dreams xhx

Tromso - Finnsnes - Harstad - Risoyhamn - Sortland - Stokmarknes - Svolvaer Stamsund

Today we sailed back through Vesteralen, the Lofoten Island and back into the trollfjord, I don’t think I have ever been as cold as I have when we were stood on the front of the boat! It was absolutely bitter, the wind cut through like a knife, I had a hat, t-shirt, light fleece, windstopper jacket, puffa coat and my waterproof jacket and I was still frozen, when we had done the trollfjord (which didn’t look as good as it did in the snow or maybe it was due to the freezing rain and wind battering us!) I had to sit in the cabin with my puffa coat on for half an hour before I started to get warm! Then later
