see the storm we were about to sail into, with the snow falling onto the sea it gave a really weird glow to the very dark, cold, un-inviting, choppy waters we were sailing through. Then a dash for cover as we hit the snow storm, that’s the kinda day its been really, not great views due to the weather conditions, but beautiful all the same.

We stopped at Bodo, a northern town, that looked particularly dull and uninspiring when we arrived again due to the falling snow and grey swirling clouds, but after a very hectic hail storm, it brightened up and the sun showed its face for a short while! The hail round these parts hurts, it feels sharp and really hurts when it hits your face or maybe its the force of the wind behind it that makes it feel so sharp! We managed a good few hours ashore which was good as it can get a bit on top being on the boat all the time especially when your up against the

elements and the views are grey! Its hard to tell how strong the sea is due to the size of this boat but we saw a fishing boat go past and my god it made me feel ill just looking how much the thing was bobbing around. When we get into more open waters boy does it make you realise the power of the nature, to me it is incredible how people have lived in these parts for so long, I always though the crossing to the Isle of Man was hectic but it ain’t nothing compared to this voyage, christ I’m even beginning to feel sorry for fishermen!

Anyway its getting near dinner time, yet another 3 course meal(!), and a load of barging old biddies, they don’t give a monkeys as long as their first in the queue, we now wait till the rush is over before we go and get dinner, you’ve never seen anything like it, and some of the dress sense, well nuff said, I can’t believe how many changes of clothes people
