NORWEGIAN COASTAL VOYAGE
13TH MAY 2005
Floro - Maloy - Torvik - Alesund - Geiranger - Alesund - Molde
Well we have woken up today to slightly worse weather - it’s a bit grey and dull with the odd shower. Hel is not feeling too well today - don’t know whether it’s a touch of sea-sickness, or perhaps a touch of a stomach bug which her Mother had in Bergen. So it was down to me to really get stuck into breakfast - and rather tasty it was too! They have fantastic bread on this ship! It’s a bit strange sleeping on the ship, there is a constant vibration because we are quite close to the engines, and I did wake up a couple of times and looked out of the window to find us docked in some port in the middle of the night! That’s when it’s the nosiest, when they are unloading and loading. We passed some very mad islands and islets late last evening -
there are millions of them around here!
Today is supposedly one of the highlights of the voyage - we spend four hours navigating up the Geirangerfjord, the steepest fjord we visit - it’s supposed to be fabulous scenery - and there is a fair bit of snow on dem hills already! Guess we’ll have to wait and see - could do with the sun coming out though! ;)
Well that’s all for now folks - see you soon!
