can describe the scenery going into and through the Geirangerfjord. It is hard to describe and imagine the size of the mountains we passed through, they are huge, scraggy and rugged to say the least and most are still snow capped, truly beautiful. Cath remember Grindlewald and imagine the valley bottom covered in water the same kinda Swiss blue, and that’s the best way I can describe the awesome beauty of that part of Norwegian nature.
Going through the fjord we were at the front of the boat in the sunshine with a mighty cold wind biting every exposed piece of skin! So we have been testing out the warmth of our new clothes and we’re not even in the arctic yet, still a few more layers to go before we have totally used up are warm clothing supply! It has to be said that after our blast of cold air in the fjord and a proper veggie meal I am feeling fine. it’s a bit weird being on a boat all the time you end up sort of permanently swaying. The open sea parts to this trip are quite choppy it has to be said, and we are just about to sail into the most open part of sea on the trip. Looking out of the window I can see grey skies, raindrops on the window, its got that sort of grey Manc look to it, Rob ventured out in full waterproofs before and has been threatening the use the outdoor Jacuzzi but I think I will wait till we get deep inside the arctic circle before I give it a go - oh I yeah!
