BACK TO SAN FRANCISCO

7TH - 12TH AUGUST

Hurray! Today was the day that Cath, Andy, Sue and Eddie were arriving! We’d been waiting for this day for a long time and finally it was here! There were a couple of minor problems, one being that neither of us felt particularly well due to a hangover and two, we had to go for some internet training with Chris!

After a long cooling shower and plenty of glasses of water, normality was returning and the hangovers were subsiding - which was handy! We ordered a cab to take us to Chris’s house as we weren’t too sure where it was or how to get there on public transport. It turns out that it wasn’t that far away but we were suddenly made aware of how expensive LA cabs are - $10 for 2 miles!!!

We went to the address Chris had given us, the only problem
being was that he didn’t live there! We must have looked fairly dodgy as a man from one of the houses we were hanging around asked us what we were doing, and who were we looking for!. Now this is how nice and helpful Americans are. Once we explained to him who we were looking for, he immediately offered us the use of his mobile phone so we could call Chris and get the correct address. How nice is that? After speaking to Chris we got his correct address and headed off down the road in search of his flat. The next minute we see a Volvo flying down the road and guess that it’s Chris and he has come looking for us! We had two hours of training with Chris about the selling of domain names, something which we may use as employment at some point in the near future. It was really great of Chris to offer this freelance type of work and I’m sure it will come in very handy at some point. Chris then kindly offered to take us to the airport where we were meeting up with the other half of the family, the Ditchfield
