YOSEMITE & TWIN LAKES
in the wild!

Over breakfast the next morning we all agreed that we could have stayed here for at least a week, it was so beautiful and so incredibly easy on the wallet but alas it was time to move on again. This time we would be swapping our alpine scenery for something completely different - Death Valley desert! Just how many different changes of scenery could California throw at us? It was going to be a long drive though and we also wanted to stop off at Bodie ghost town on the way.

After a somewhat bumpy ride we finally arrived at Bodie ghost town, looking like we should be trading in our mini-van for a couple of old horses and a cowboy hat! Bodie ghost town is an old gold-mining village which has been preserved in an incredible way - it was basically just left as it was found, so
it is like stepping back in time, to a time of cowboys and Indians - remember all of those old spaghetti westerns!!!

After a brief look around we set off in earnest for the desert. Although it was a long drive we passed through yet more fantastic scenery, including the highest peak in the USA outside of Alaska, so it wasn’t too much of a chore! Just wished we could stay everywhere for a lot longer!!!
