YOSEMITE & TWIN LAKES

Remembering the quality of food from the restaurant the night before we decided to head round there for breakfast. Again the portions were enormous but thankfully Rob and I shared a breakfast so it didn’t leave us unable to move!!! The quality of the food was again brilliant and after endless coffee and tea refills we left and decided to go and do the waterfall walk, highly recommended by our new mate Chuck - the ever informative campsite man!

We headed off and walked through some beautiful woods before the path started to head uphill which meant we had got the start of the waterfalls walk. We started off up the hill and the views just got better and better the higher up we got. We reached the waterfall and it was awesome, we chilled around for a short while before Rob, Andy, Eddie and me decided to carry on up the hill. I think the lack of sleep was catching up with Sue, so we left Cath
and Sue next to the waterfall while we carried on. The snow-capped peaks were coming into their own the higher up we got and before we knew it, the path opened out into a beautiful alpine meadow. I would have never guessed in a million years that parts of California would look like this, in fact you had to pinch yourself to remind yourself that you were actually in America and not alpine Europe! The weather was perfect, lovely and sunny but not too hot, we were also fairly high but the snow-capped peaks still seemed to soar skyward. We all decided that we could walk in countryside like this all day but after around an hour decided that we should probably think about heading back to the others. We had passed a fair few rocks which Andy had been eyeing up and on the way down he decided to do a wee bit of climbing, he was in his element and it was really great to see him looking so happy and him being so fit.
