COPACABANA
she was staying in the HI hostel so we headed down there but were less than impressed with the room and the fact that the guy behind reception said that there was no-one under Andie’s name staying there. We were a little confused by this so we thought we’d check out the hostel that I had spied on the way down to the waterfront, then hit an internet café and email Andie and see what had happened to her! Leyanda, the hostel I had seen was fantastic, we were shown their best room and believe me it was top. It was massive, complete with bathroom (if a little smelly due to no extractor fan), a 3 piece reed sofa and chairs, a table and double doors opening out onto a large balcony with superb views over the lake - result! It was cheap as chips so obviously we didn’t say no!

internet can be! It took more than 5 minutes to load our webmail page so we knew this wasn’t the place for uploading photos. We were both getting extremely frustrated with it and were just about to sack it off after I had finished writing an email - the internet was more hassle than it was worth. Then who walked in to cheer us up? Cheeky Phil! He was great to see him but as I was in the middle of an email, Rob and Phil headed down to the hostel to get Phil a room while I plodded on with the internet.
There was still no sign of Andie but we had received a few emails from her asking what we were doing -hmmm something was going wrong, our emails didn’t seem to be talking to each other, but there’s not a lot you can do about that especially in a town where internet is so very very slow. Still we thought that if she was in town it wouldn’t be long till we bumped into her.
