LA PAZ
raining. It was now pouring down in La Paz so who knows what the weather was like in Rurrenabaque, the Bolivian military certainly didn’t seem to know what was going on. Our lady then told us there had been a problem with the system and the computer had lost 6 or 12 peoples names! More chaos no doubt!
We hadn’t even been given a ticket let alone a boarding pass so we started to seriously doubt we would be on that plane should it ever take off! Finally at 6 p.m. they cancelled the flight. Great! We had been waiting for the past 5 hours in a very cold airport and now we had to hope that the hostel would have a room for us! 5 bloody hours, it did amaze us that it takes 5 hours for somebody to authorise a flight cancellation. How on earth did the Bolivian military ever manage a coup?!!!

Thankfully the hostel had a room, but the owners did look at little surprised when we re-appeared a good few hours later! We got chatting to a top couple, James and Alice who lived in Yorkshire. James came to watch the football with us and after a few beers and tales of our epic wait at the airport we were feeling a little better. Alice had joined us by this point and we all just hit it off. They were at the start of a 6 month round the world trip and were both great.
As we had packed all of our food away we decided to go out for dinner. Phil had told us of the great delights served in Oliver’s Travels which is an English style pub run by a lad from Sheffield! Wow the north of
