LA PAZ
another chilled day pottering around. We watched Liverpool’s Champions League game which was very boring but a good result for La’pool. Then we headed out and up to the best view point in La Paz. The views from there were great and at last we had managed to get some decent photos from La Paz! We then grabbed a taxi and headed down to the main square, it was very busy but pleasant enough. We finally found some insect repellent which we had been looking for since we’d booked our tour. We laughed to ourselves saying why were we even bothering with insect repellent as none of it has ever worked. The best one we have ever had was some in bought in Goa but that was definitely long gone. Insect repellent is just another one of the must have blags I reckon, as I’m sure it generally attracts more insects than when you don’t bother with the stinky stuff.

We had another chilled evening due to our
tour starting the next day, the last thing we wanted was to start our tour with a hangover! Basically we were due to be at the airport for 1 p.m. then take a 1 - 2 hour flight to Rurrenabaque.

We were up fairly handy and after breakfast we headed out to get some money and a few last minute things. I was after a new pair of sunglasses and we also needed some new locks for Rob’s rucksack. The choice of shades was mind-blowing, La Paz does a roaring trade in cheap sunnies and there are stalls galore! Poor Rob was dragged round many a stall until I found the right pair, and a bargain at £2.50! After this we headed back to the hostel and waited for our taxi. Sure enough the taxi turned up on time with a lady from Inca Land Tours who was coming to the airport with us.
