LA PAZ
the hostel without a hitch. We obviously weren’t going to walk around showing our wealth, but then we never really want to do that anyway, especially in cities where people on the dole back in England probably earn more in a month than these people.
By this time it had well passed lunch time and not only Rob was starving! We were told about a lovely little café and headed down to it. It was totally a gringo place but we really didn’t fancy any of the street food especially as it would have a good few layers of diesel fumes on it. Sometimes you just have to spoil yourself and we were tempted by the healthy chickpea and salad and mucho completo pita pockets. Basically the mucho completo was just all of the salad things they had stuffed into a pita bread. Unlucky for our waistline, these were on offer with a fruit shake of our choice and a plate of chips all for 12 B’s (less than a quid)!

The tortas (cakes) were to die for but we were feeling very full by the time we had finished our main course. After this we headed back to the hostel, had a few games of pool then checked a few things out on the internet.
The next morning we decided to go and check out Jungle and Pampas tours. We had decided that we couldn’t leave South America without at least one trip to the Amazon area and Bolivia was a great place to visit it from, due to it generally being such a cheap country. The tours sounded amazing and although we had only checked them out on the internet it gave us a good idea of what we wanted to do and the best travel agents to book them with. We had considered trying to do it all ourselves but its not really how it works so we didn’t really mind. Sometimes its nice to have all things sorted out for you. We also spoke to Cath and co who were away on their annual Easter trip.
