more.
We went back via the main camp and booked ourselves onto an early morning game drive. Although it is fantastic to be able to self drive around the park, the park authority also run game drives which start earlier than the gates open to the public. They were really reasonably priced so we thought it only right that we take one. We had another wonderful evening with a few beers, a good braai and great conversation. We were all very happy and things had definitely improved from our waiting days of Jo’burg and Nelspruit.
I don’t think any one of us was particularly pleased to hear the sound of the alarm at 5 am, but it didn’t take us long to wake up and spring out of bed. Our jeep was coming to the camp at 5.30 and we got all wrapped up as we had been warned it would be very cold. The jeep was already waiting when we arrived at the

The driver explained to us that we weren’t guaranteed any sightings but he was hopeful we should see something. We set off out of the gates and it was quite eerie sitting there in the pitch black listening to all of these strange noises. The driver and guide both had a powerful torch that they flashed around and it really got your heart beating at the thrill of tracking down these wonderful animals. The first thing we saw was the high profile impala! Then we saw a bush baby high up in a tree, it had really bright red eyes and looked kind of cute, if a little strange! We then saw an elephant which are always a joy to see, then a hyena which apparently we were lucky to see. We headed to an area where we could get out
