TOKYO
liant!

We sat there in amazement as we watched the day turn to night and Tokyo light up and start to sparkle. It was a truly stunning sight. The darker it got the more the lights seem to dance and you could almost feel the energy from the city streets. We eventually dragged ourselves out of the tower and outside, and the transition from warm to cold was extreme! It was bitterly cold with a truly icy cold northern wind that was larger than life and made my windstopper jacket feel like a t-shirt! It was definitely not the right time to be wandering the streets so we headed off in a rather hurried fashion to Mega Web, Toyota’s premier car showroom. Neither of us knew what to expect or thought we’d be in there for very long, but how wrong we were - it was ace! It wasn’t like your average car showroom and there definitely weren’t any dodgy car salesmen! They had little computer terminals where you could order the car you wanted to check out. They
had a huge car lift system which then brought your ordered car to you, and it did all of this in approximately 10 minutes! We didn’t get to see the lift working which I wasn’t really to bothered about but Rob was a bit miffed! It also had Eco Car, which is a part where you get in a small car that drives itself and takes you around the whole factory! You have to pay 200 yen each (£1) but we thought it was definitely worth it, just to see how on earth this car drove itself! We got our ticket and waited our turn, it took about 7 minutes to get around the circuit and soon enough it was our turn. Our car was a little purple thing, similar to a smart car in shape and size and we were given our instructions and told to only press the green button. Of course Rob had to press the blue on as well, which meant that it made an unofficial stop later at Station 7 but we just pleaded ignorance and the man could speak hardly any English so smiles were exchanged then off we went again!!! It is so weird being in a car
