TOKYO
have to say got a big thumbs up but the rest of it - oh la la la!! Why oh why do people insist on making things far more complicated than they need to be - simplicity is the art of brilliant design!!! Now it was time to work out how to flush this thing, not remembering what Rob had told me, I immediately pressed one of the many buttons on the keypad to the left of the seat, only to find that a sudden jet of water appeared out of the middle of it and squirted all of over me, the loo seat was down in a flash but I couldn’t stop the water. It was still coming out from the seat gap and was spraying all up the wall, so of course I just automatically pressed as many buttons as I could, in the vein hope of stopping this water jet. I heard the sound of another stream of water but kept the lid firmly down and after pressing yet another random button (of course all of the instructions are in Japanese) I finally heard the sound of a dryer, much to my relief!!! I attentively opened the lid to find the toilet drying
itself!!!! I then remembered about Rob saying something, so I looked at the back and found a sort of more normal looking flusher just below the built in sink and tap!!! I turned and phew it flushed but in the process turned the water on in the sink, how on earth you could wash your hands in it was beyond me, as you’d have needed to be of giant sized proportions to use the damn thing!!! I just stood there looking at it in utter amazement - I will never understand the need for such a complicated device, a toilet is a toilet at the end of the day, no need to add such unnecessary complications in my mind, but hey I suppose this is the city of the future where anything goes - god help us!!!
After the shock of the toilet and much giggling and I told you so, from my nearest and dearest we headed off to the local seven eleven to get something to eat. Now seven eleven shops have been our constant
