NORWEGIAN COASTAL VOYAGE

12TH MAY 2005

Bergen

The day we have waited for, for what seems an age has finally arrived and we have now set sail, on our trusty vessel Nordnorge. It was sad saying goodbye to our folks I think there were tears all round if we’re all really honest! After tears and waving goodbye we headed straight for the restaurant and stuffed ourselves, not great for veggies but I have seen worse! Rob was in his element and we got sat next to some very friendly Canadians, who were very nice and interested in our trip!

We experienced our first on-board sunset and battled with the wind, man was it strong couldn’t walk into it at one point, took endless amounts of photos already, god we are gonna bore everyone stupid with the amount of photos we’ll have by the end of our incredible journey! So its 22.05 and I’m sat drinking expensive
but lovely Italian wine, listening to Jazz (mike you’d love it!) through the ships phone, Rob is testing out the shower and I’m thinking how mad it all is and is gonna be!

Had a great time in Bergen, wow what a city, really lovely place, loads of mad old wooden buildings, a real higgledy-piggledy place, we got the funicular to the top of the mountain yesterday and had a wicked walk, the air here is just incredible, it is so clean it really makes you feel alive and free, just bliss.

Well that’s about it for one day me thinks, good bye till tomorrow.
