The next day we went for a lovely walk down by the river and around the outlying area, it was really beautiful and a stark contrast to the south with all its beaches but more my kind of thing. We had a really good days walking and we pretty tired by the end of it. We had thought about hiring mopeds but thought we’d wait till we got to Pai as they were quite a bit cheaper there. Had a very chilled rest of the day and a lovely meal latter on, then went back to our guest house for a session of cards. Hey what a rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle we’re leading these days!

It was soon our final day so

we went to check out all of the temples, they were amazing and so many of them. We went up to the largest one on top of the hill, which was quite a climb up loads of steps, but definitely worth it for the temple and views. We also had a birds-eye view of the airport got some great photos of a plane taking off!!! We walked the long way back into the city, its crazy to think of this place as a city but apparently it is, so who are we to question why! Before we knew it the day had passed and it was time to pack as we were leaving at 7.40 a.m. to get the half 8 bus to Pai.

We got up fairly reluctantly but thought that if Pai was anywhere near as nice as this place then we’d wouldn’t be disappointed. We got to the bus station, or yard would perhaps be more appropriate, only to find out that our 8.30 bus wasn’t running. The explanations we were given were that it had either broken down the day
