why it was a really bad idea, there was this guy and his young daughter feeding cornflakes to a kangaroo out of the packet. Hel asked him whether he’d seen the signs, and he claimed that he hadn’t, which was on obvious lie as they were everywhere. When Hel explained to him that human food was really bad for kangaroos, he replied that cornflakes were ok as they were healthy food! At which point Hel’s voice went up several octaves as she exclaimed “for kangaroos????” He eventually got the message and left them alone, and once he’d driven off we headed down to the beach, where about forty of them were all feeding on a grassy bit next to the sand!! They are amazing animals, ever so cute!!!

A special treat was in store as we’d found some halloumi cheese in the local Aldi - the first time we’d seen any since we’d left the UK, so Haloumi and hummus kebabs made for a delicious tea,
washed down with some of our favourite Lindemanns boxed wine!!

Early the next morning I woke up needing to pay a visit, and was greeted right outside the tent by a very inquisitive kangaroo, who just seemed to be hanging out outside the tent, and just looked at me as if to say “Hello”. A very mad sight when I was half asleep! We fancied a good walk the next day, and there was quite a few to be done from the campsite. There was a board up detailing all the walks through the forest and along the beaches. We chose the walk up to Durras Mountain, a half day walk along the coast and then up to the highest point in the area, which we figured would have some pretty decent views of the coast. The coast part was fairly easy going, with a few ups and downs, but the climb up to the top was quite a long hard slog.
