internet so I was very pleased with myself for finding flights at half the price we thought they would be. Good old Malaysia Airlines! They had flights at half the price of South African Airways and after double checking with Rob that the flights were actually that cheap we booked them there and then! I also emailed Mike Lever to tell him that we were definitely going to Africa as he had promised to come and visit us at some point and time was running out for him. I then emailed Doris and Jacob from Antarctica, as we knew they were heading to Africa and I wanted to let them know about these flights from Malaysia Airlines. Wow, this was turning out to be a very good day, we had just saved ourselves over £800 on flights, not bad for a morning trawl on the internet! We had also booked a winery tour for the afternoon so thought we’d treat ourselves to a good bottle of wine from one of their shops as a celebration of our money saving, which would come in very handy as our money is fast running
out!

About an hour after emailing Doris and Jacob, we got a reply to say that they were in Mendoza with Doris’s Mum! How mad is that? We had no idea where they were but were highly delighted when they suggested that we meet up that evening - wow could this day get any better?

Around 2pm our wine tour minibus came to pick us up and we headed off. We weren’t really sure what to expect and it was our first wine tour - a bit slack really seeing as we had visited most of the world’s best wine regions! But hey-ho the fact that this was only costing us less than a fiver probably had something to do with it!
