MENDOZA
back into John Lennon (above us only Sky) Airport on bloody Easyjet after 2 years 3 months travelling round the world!!! It will be a brutal shock to the senses I’m sure, but when we see the happy faces that are coming to meet us, the England/Easyjet shock will subside and it will be smiles all round! So that was that, we booked the flights and now head back to La’pool on 9th August, the day before my Mum’s birthday, which of course she is delighted about!
The rest of the day was spent in a daze about the fact we had finally set a date for heading home and us trying to find out as much information on Africa as we could while we had internet that worked! We knew it would be impossible for us to get a South African guide book in English in South America, so we had another internet slog. Later on we chilled with a lovely bottle of wine and reminded ourselves that we still had a fair old chunk

of time left, so there was no point in getting too depressed about the fact we had booked our flights home!
When we woke the next morning we realised that it was our last full day in Mendoza. We had only planned 3 or 4 days here and suddenly it had turned into a week! Still we had got an awful lot of things sorted so it felt like it had been a productive time. We headed into town as we had to fax our credit card details to Swiss Air for flight confirmation. After this we headed back to the hostel for lunch then went off to the park for the afternoon. We felt we’d done enough on the internet and decided to enjoy our last sunny afternoon in the huge park. It was a lovely big park and we did a great walk around the lake and surrounding area. The park had loads of little streams with sluice gates which helped channel the water to irrigate the park and ensured everything got a drink. Pretty
