with the lake the day after!
We went to Bagore-ki-Haveli an 18th Century building right on the waters edge. A Haveli is a traditional ornately decorated residence of rich people, it was an amazing place and a great way to spend the afternoon, check out the photos to see how grand it was!
The next day Tony had left and the boats had resumed normal service, so we got our ride around the lake, and a visit to Jagmandir Island which had a very impressive palace on it, which was used as inspiration for the Taj Mahal, no less! After that we visited the City Palace Museum which was very interesting.
As with Jodhpur the city looked far more enchanting by night; the buildings

seemed to sparkle under the lights and the Lake Palace Hotel shimmered beautifully under the moonlight. This hotel is described as being one of the world’s most spectacular hotels, a bit out of price range at $275, but it certainly was a treat to see it.
Again we had trouble booking trains, everything to Goa, our next port of call, was booked up for days so we had to think of any alternative. The buses to Mumbai were approximately 19 hours so we figured this was a definite no no. The best way we could get to Goa was to get an afternoon bus to Ahmedadbad, stay there for a night then get the overnight bus to Mumbai, spend the day there then get an overnight train to Goa!!! We didn’t really think it would be such a long haul to get down to Goa but 3 days seemed to be the best timescale we could come up with, either that or spend another 3-4 days in Udaipur but we were ready to move on so we took
