stopped us and asked if they could take our picture, now this had happened quite a few times so we said ‘yeah no problem’ not realising that every single one of them wanted a picture taking with them stood right next to us! At one point a friendly scuffle broke out as to who was next in line for the picture! After the numerous shots each one shook our hand and thanked us very much, and went on their way whooping with delight - very mad!!!
We were now in the heat of the day and boy was it hot but we had one more place to visit before we headed back to down to the old city. Jaswant Thada is a marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, it was built out of white marble and some of the stonework detail was incredibly intricate, it was a very peaceful beautiful place. Before going up the steps you had to take off your shoes, the steps were so hot we virtually ran to the top and fortunately

there was a sackcloth carpet laid all around the temple so you didn’t have to burn your feet on the boiling hot stones!!! Inside was very serene and it was nice to escape the heat if only for a short time.
As we’d spent most of the day sightseeing we decided to go back and chill for a while before going to check email and to see if we had a response from the Camel Camp. We had more or less decided that we were due a special treat so knew that it wouldn‘t take much discount to persuade us to go and spend a couple of days of pure luxury in the desert! Sure enough we had a reply and it said to call to discuss our arrangements so we ended up taking a rickshaw to their offices and arranging things from there.
