definitely been missing. We carried on upstream until we got as far as we could, it was beautiful and the scenery really reminded us of being back in China. We definitely knew that there would be plenty of things to keep us occupied for the rest of our time in India.

Later on in the evening we thought it would only be right to give Cath a call seeing as it was her birthday, and it was really good to speak to her. I think she was also really pleased to hear from us as there were tears of joy!!!

The next morning we thought we’d better check on our flights as we were flying out on the 16th Oct or so we thought! We checked everything out on the internet, flight times etc, emailed a hotel in Delhi as we’d decided to stay there on the last night. We then came back to our room and I
checked in my diary only to find out that we had got the dates mixed up and we were actually flying out on the 17th Oct - DOH!!! Thankfully no harm done but honestly what are we like? We’d even sat there in front of the computer with the flight print-out with all our round the world flight details on it!!! Double DOH!

That afternoon we checked out downstream as we wanted to book a rafting trip and also wanted to check out the area. It was certainly nicer where we were and although Rishikesh is the home of Yoga and meditation, helped by The Beatles coming here in the 60’s to see their Spiritual Guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, it certainly is very hectic and extremely noisy in places. We eventually found the rafting place and booked ourselves on a half days raft for the next day for the grand total of £14.60 for the two of us!
