course’ thinking RESULT, we get to do loads more rafting than we thought we would for no extra cost, how ace is that? There were 4 other people who were rafting with us but they were only coming with us up to our lunch stop. The rafting company also ran a riverside camp and these people who were from England were staying at the camp and only doing the first half of the raft. I forgot to say that the cost included lunch, pretty good value for money we thought!

We got kitted out as the raft was being blown up. Wow we had proper helmets and life jackets! It was nearly time to set sail and it turns out that I was the only one who’d rafted before. Remembering my last rafting trip in Slovenia I was really excited and very much looking forward to getting onto the river! We were given some basic instructions on how to raft then told to get in! We were off, we did a few circles to practise our rowing, Rob

was at the front on the right hand side and I was 3rd back on the left. I was quite glad I wasn’t too close to Rob remembering his rude remarks about my rowing abilities in Pokhara! It was a gentle 20 minutes before we hit our first rapid, nothing too big but a buzz all the same, then came the second again nothing to mad, then it was time to swim if anybody fancied it! Of course Rob was in like a shot, I wasn’t too sure and had pockets full of sunglasses, sun cream and money so thought I’d give it a miss! Rob was like a little kid floating and splashing around! It was time for everyone to get back in the raft and get ourselves prepared for the next rapid worrying called Rollercoaster! Wow, what a rapid, at one point I thought the raft was going to flip over, we must have been 7 - 8 foot up in the air then got hit by a wave from the side and everyone was thrown around!
