own hooves and try and get past Bob at the earliest available moment! This meant that at the first opportunity Julie made a quick hurried dive to the right and was off past Bob like a shot, but with some nifty handling by Sue, she was pulled up before she could break out into a fast trot! My heart did jump though at seeing Sue start to head off up the hill on an ex-racehorse! After Sue and Julie made the quick transaction to being in front of Eddie and Bob she seemed to calmly walk the rest of the way back to the corral. It had been a truly wonderful ride and well done to Sue and Eddie for having the bottle to do it. After we said our goodbyes to our trusty steeds we jumped back in the mini bus and got driven back to Ruby’s Inn.

It had been a wonderful experience riding through the canyon but as you can imagine the Robster and Andy were getting hungry and dinner was definitely the next thing
on the agenda. Fortunately the hotel part of Ruby’s Inn had more than one eating place, and the hotel restaurant had a wait for it, all you can eat lunch buffet! We were in there like a shot, we all ate far too much food, (in fact this was the scene of Rob’s infamous nine pieces of fish extravaganza!!) then headed back to the tent for a lie down and a chilled couple of hours.

Cath and Andy had also booked to go ATV’ing - for us Brits, that means quad-biking! They were due to go at 7 p.m. but we all wanted to go back into Bryce before that and maybe have a walk down into the canyon itself. We all went in the car, knowing that everyone could get the shuttle bus back in their own time. Sue and Eddie went off and did there own thing and the 4 of us went off to walk down into the canyon.
