ZION & BRYCE CANYONS
good for us all - result! After a great feed we headed to the local garage to stock up on beer before heading back to the motel for a nightcap.
We were up and away fairly early the next morning, even with the extra camping gear strapped onto the roof! We had planned to drive through Zion Canyon en-route to Bryce - wow all of these canyons, we were certainly going to be in for a great canyon treat over the next few days!! It didn’t take long to get to Zion, we stopped in the village on the outskirts and got the shuttle bus through the canyon. Thankfully cars are not allowed to drive through parts of the canyon, which does wonders for the peace and tranquillity of the place.
The canyon is very dramatic in appearance. The red canyon walls that tower above you make you feel

incredibly small and insignificant in this overpowering scenery. We had wanted to stay on the bus all the way through the park, but again time wasn’t on our side, so we decided to get off at the Weeping Wall????. This place was amazing, the weeping wall was wet, as water seeped through it and the difference in temperature around the wall was significant, but also very welcoming as the air was cool and damp. This place also gave you unsurpassed views of the canyon, not that you could see very far due the height of the canyon walls. It was an incredibly beautiful place. We stopped off a couple of times on the way back to the visitors centre, all wishing that we could have had significantly more time here.
The drive to Bryce was equally pleasing on the eye. We drove the main drag through the park and were treated to a bit of singing by Eddie and Sue as Rob had downloaded a few of Johnny Cash’s albums
