ZION & BRYCE CANYONS
night!
The next morning meant that we would be packing up and saying a heavy hearted bye bye to Bryce. What a place, it surpassed everybody’s expectations and like the sayings go … leave only footprints and take only memories, we had certainly done that and will most definitely be back. The next time I see Bryce will be in winter, I can only dream about how ultra amazing this place would look like in the snow, the closest thing to a fairytale I’ll ever get! We had a very chilled out morning, we weren’t in a rush and to be honest I think after the horse-riding, walking, ATV’ing, swimming and suchlike we’d done over the past few days nothing would have or could have made us rush! We slowly packed up and finally once we were all ready we climbed into the car and were all looking forward to a good sit down!

the area, we had one last visit to Bryce. There is an 18 mile drive you can do which takes you through the canyon. Again the magnitude of the place never fails to stun, it is an incredible size and just seems to drift on endlessly for miles and miles. The drive was fantastic although the weather was looking a little storm like. We had taken the precaution of tying a rain sheet over the roof luggage as we’d read that it was stormy around the Grand Canyon, our next port of call. The ride is a one way affair so you only actually drive 9 miles into the canyon before getting to the best viewpoint which on a clear day, claims that you can see the Grand Canyon from there. We didn’t see it but some friendly Americans pointed to its general direction, and told us the problem is you can‘t really see it because the North Rim, which was closer to us, is around a thousand feet higher then the South, so it kind of hides it. You could see how the plateau’s dropped off in stages as the you looked South though, a
