ZION & BRYCE CANYONS
cooking.

We all thought that it would be better to leave seeing Bryce till the next morning as there were 6 hungry campers to feed and we wanted to get cooking before it went dark! We all had a little task and between us made a feast fit for a king - Eddie’s sweetcorn being a definite highlight - cooked to absolute perfection on an open fire, who needs a kitchen??!! Camping with Sue and Eddie was great fun, the fire continued, we had a great laugh and everyone was in extremely good spirits. Even for us after us spending nearly 8 months camping it was still a buzz and something which we weren’t tiring of - although we had enjoyed the odd occasion where we had stayed in a big lovely bed!!!

I slept great. I had woken up on a couple of occasions and heard the odd rumble of thunder
but it hadn’t kept me awake for long. Unfortunately not everyone else had managed to sleep through the storm but even so everyone managed to smile!

We were eager to get going so after a Rob and Andy special breakfast we were all set and ready to go. We decided that we would get the shuttle bus into Bryce, and our first stop was the good old visitors centre. Rob had a chat with one of the rangers and we decided to do the walk the ranger recommended, which was the canyon view trail??? Which basically goes from one viewpoint to another and took about a couple of hours. The shuttle bus drivers seem to be very contented with their jobs, they are eager to please and give you a good rundown of the history and geology of the place. We finally got to the viewpoint where we needed to get off, which was also the point where we got our first glimpse of Bryce Canyon.
