losing battle. It was a soul lifting experience standing on those boardwalks watching as millions of gallons of water plunged over the edge to the murky, spray filled depths below. There were rainbows galore and it was heavenly to feel the cool waters splash onto your face. We watched in a daze as the river below carry away the foaming and frothing water that had plunged over the edge and dropped some 80 metres or so below us and all the while we were transfixed by the deafening roar of cascading water. Who knows how long we were stood watching this awesome display but at some point we realised that we were both soaking wet and starting to get a little hungry, so we somehow managed to drag ourselves away from these mighty falls and head off back along the boardwalks in search of a suitable picnic spot.

walking within our feet and realised that it was nearly 5.30 pm and the park closed at 6.30 pm! We still hadn’t seen all of what the Parque had to offer and were glad we had enough time to come back tomorrow. The only thing left to do was grab a beer and to give our feet a rest before making the last walk back to the entrance. On the way we passed by the café where we saw a cheeky coati mug a tourist!! It was taking a keen interest in the carrier bag the guy was holding, then all of a sudden just lunged forward and grabbed the bag out of the guy’s hand and head off with his prize!! It was funny in a way but in others a sad example of how we have unwittingly changed animal’s behaviour just by our presence!! All in all though it had been a truly superb day and we were counting down the minutes till we would be back here!
