IGUAZU FALLS
promised to visit when we went on to Uruguay - we didn’t really have any intention of either going to Frey Bentos or the dreaded ex meat factory me being a strict veggie an all, but you; a) have to be polite and b) laugh your socks off at the craziness of it all, it was a very funny moment! Us promising all of these didn’t satisfy his interest in us, he was exceptionally friendly and very interested in our travels even to point of us sitting down with him and showing him some of our website photos. He talked fast even for a south American and it didn’t matter to him that we didn’t have the first idea what he was on about. He was a lovely man and will always be remembered as the Uruguayan athlete from Frey Bentos who made us promise to visit both Frey Bentos and an ex meat factory turned museum - pure comedy!!!

After the hilarities of breakfast we were hoping for a calmer taxi ride to the
airport - thankfully this was the case, although the taxi driver did go the wrong way on one occasion which always makes you wonder if your getting totally ripped off or not. It seemed thankfully that it was a genuine mistake due to the labyrinth of cobbled streets around Santa Theresa. It was a horrendous day weather wise and the dark rain filled skies made us feel glad to be leaving Rio behind. Due to the bad weather various planes had been delayed so we were moved to another plane and told that this one should be on-time. Thankfully, it didn’t seem to matter that both our names we spelt wrong on our e-tickets and we were given our boarding passes without a hitch! The Rio domestic airport is reminiscent of Liverpool airport before it was expanded, it was very chaotic with various plane announcements and no sign of anyone moving. Our flight eventually got called and it didn’t correspond to either our new or old flight time, but we had learned to live with Brasils odd time!!! Also an amusing moment came
