FIJI
where we met up again with everyone else. Before dinner was served we were given a little talk by Rennie, he made us feel incredibly welcome and let us know what activities would be on offer. Lunch was served and it was fantastic, a big plus for you know who!
We went for a walk on the beach and generally chilled around all afternoon. Dinner again was served at 7pm and it is after this that the fun really started! After dinner Rennie introduced his staff and they all sang the Bula Bula Bula song to us, before he explained that we would all be taking part in White Sandy Beach’s Bula dancing. (Bula is a universal Fijian greeting meaning hello). We then had to go outside of the dinner hut and all stand in a separate boys and girls line then practice the Bula dance! It is sort of like the Macarena but Fiji style. It probably sounds really cheesy and I guess it was but it was good fun and a good way

to relax and meet people. We then got paired off and had various bit of dancing to do before we were told that we would be left alone to carry on dancing if we wished or go and relax at the dinner tables! As you can probably imagine everyone made a bee-line for the tables. That night we met some really great people, we met 2 sisters from Hereford, Claire and Sarah and a couple of Welsh girls, Rachel and Rachel! We all instantly clicked and had a great evening chatting about all kinds of stuff and swapping travellers tales. They had all been travelling for around 5 or 6 months and had travelled around Australia and New Zealand so it was good conversation. After all this good conversation and a few Fiji bitters ( no Fiji Gold here!) which isn’t really like English bitter, it was time to head off to bed.
