ESTEROS DEL IBERá
hostel people to take one of their tours to Reserva Provincial Esteros del Ibera. The hostel was a bit of a dump and the tours were very expensive by Argentine standards, so we decided to head to the internet and see if we could book things ourselves. Success! Of course we could book things cheaper ourselves! We booked ourselves into another hostel at Carlos Pellegrini, the main town within the national park. The only thing left to do was check out how to get there! We headed down to the bus terminal and asked around and one friendly girl pointed us in the right direction as to which bus to get. The bus didn’t arrive till 12.30 so we decided to wait around till it showed up in the hope that we could buy some tickets! When the bus arrived we both looked at each other and quickly realised that we wouldn’t be travelling in style! The bus resembled something straight out of India - it was a true old boneshaker!!! We asked the driver about tickets and apparently you can’t buy them straight from him so we
decided to head back to hostel and try our luck buying them there. After avoiding a few glares for not buying a tour with them, they agreed that we could buy the tickets and the bus would pick us up the day after tomorrow.
What we had also found was that our website had reverted back to an old edition and we had lost about 2 months of data - as you can imagine we were highly delighted about this, especially the fact that we couldn’t get our internet company to send a reply as to what was going on. It is times like these when you really do feel a million miles away. Here we were stuck in a small town in the middle of nowhere with extremely limited facilities and we couldn’t get either our website or email to work! Grrrrrrr! It wasn’t our happiest day but what could we do, no doubt it would sort itself out at some point!
