out into the lagoon, we were glad to have missed the heat of the day as the sun by now was fairly low in the sky. After around 10 minutes in very open water we headed closer to the side and saw the biggest lily pond either of us has ever seen. There was an endless carpet of lilies and whilst all not in flower it was still an very impressive site. Lurking on the bank was a caiman and the more you looked the more you could see hovering around in the brown tinted water. We could also see a Capybara in the distance and a vast array of birds. The sounds were also incredible, you wouldn’t believe the sound some of the smallest birds make, they maybe small but they sure do have good lungs! This place was also really special. Argentina is blessed with a multitude of good nature and abundant wildlife and it really is a joy to visit. We continued on with our journey, doubling back on ourselves and heading to a different part of the lagoon. The lagoon was massive and obviously we were only going to visit a small
section of it, but what we’d seen so far was fabulous! It is hard to describe the emotions you have in situations like this but it really does give a great sense of loving life and still we keep pinching ourselves to remind us how lucky we are to see all of these sensational places.

After reaching the area we were next going to explore, the boat man turned the engine off and just used his pole to guide us through the water. The stillness of the place was quite eerie at times although there was always the constant chatter of birds in the distance. The Caiman were coming thick and fast now and we were getting closer and closer to them deeply hoping that they wouldn’t mind! We were quite used to spotting them in the water by this stage but it still didn’t stop your neck hairs tingling with excitement when you saw their heads gliding through the water.
