ESTEROS DEL IBERá
reasonable hour of the day we were disappointed by the fact that the rain hadn’t relented and looked like it was here for the day. The sky was dark grey and the rain clouds were moving nowhere! At least we had a couple of days grace for our boat trip, unlike the UK couple we met at the Mercedes hostel who were only here for the day! The rain didn’t relent and by mid afternoon we thought it was time to dig out our waterproof coats and hope for the best!
The streets were looking like a very rainy Glastonbury and the mud was just as sticky. It was hard work trying to wade through it and we did have to retrace our steps on one of the streets as it was just too difficult to walk on. We battled on though and we headed to the visitors centre, located just out of town. It seemed to take forever to get there and when we arrived we found it was closed for decorating!!! We were also hoping that the rain would subside as we weren’t too sure how the bus would cope on such muddy roads!!! Nice as it was here, we didn’t really fancy getting stranded and were hoping for a brighter day tomorrow!
Thankfully we woke the next morning to sun streaming through the shutters, so we were up like a flash.
