ESTEROS DEL IBERá
t!!!
After around 2 hours everyone on the bus was starting to get a bit twitchy and we were hoping that the journey wouldn’t take too much long. We were totally clueless as to how or where we were due to the never-ending flatness. After another 30 minutes or so we saw a red and white tower in the distance and were hoping that this was the start of some signs of life. We had only passed a hand full of houses within the last 2 hours so were hoping we would reach civilisation soon! Thankfully soon after this the bus rolled over a very rickety bridge and we could see a sort of town in the distance. The bus driver asked everybody where they were staying so he could drop you off at your door! We told him the name of our hostel to which there seemed to be much confusion and discussion between fellow passengers, which was all a little unnerving! The next thing we know a large jolly lady is on her mobile phone and whoever she was talking to she kept mentioning

our hostel, Rancho Inambu! Of course we were dreading what we were going to find but thankfully the hostel turned out to be great. It turns out that the hostel owner was away and hadn’t got the reservation, so the jolly lady phoned the stand in man to warn him there were 2 visitors about to arrive at the hostel!!! People here were so very friendly, this woman had already made her son move so I could seat in his seat as I was too hot sitting in the sun, then she helped us out like this - it certainly made us forget about our website hassles!!!
Thankfully the stand-in hostel man arrived just after the bus, which was handy as the bus wasn’t going anywhere till the stand-in arrived! Imagine that in England, there would be a riot on the bus if people had to wait like that - here they just all chat amongst themselves and have a good old laugh! Result! The hostel was amazing, it was like our own
