It took around 5 hours of hard driving to get us back to Rurrenabaque and we never got stuck once, which was just incredible. This land cruiser sure wasn’t the type used for dropping your kids off at school, it was about 20 years old, tatty as anything but drove like it had just come out of a showroom - these vehicles are just incredible, it doesn’t seem to matter what you throw at them they can handle it. We thanked the driver profusely and thought about the poor sod having to do it all again tomorrow with another bunch of gringos.

We headed back to the same hotel we’d stayed in when we arrived and
although feeling a little shaky we were in good spirits, we’d had an amazing time at both the jungle and the pampas and felt very lucky to have seen such a wonderful place. We went out for a meal and then headed back to the hotel for a fairly early night as we were supposed to be flying out at 10 am in the morning!!! Time would tell on that one but we weren’t too confident that we would actually be taking to the skies! We knew we wouldn’t if the Bolivian military had anything to do with it!

In the morning we headed round to Inca Land Tours to say our goodbyes and thank all of the staff for being so helpful. They were a great bunch of people and made you feel so welcome, you felt kind of sad saying goodbye. We were told that the flight was not going at 10 but more than likely it would go at 3!
