surface. It is a very special place with a exceptionally special job in the eco sense of things, it is relatively undisturbed by man and reaps the rewards of this by it being so abundant in wildlife.
We returned to camp around 11 am and had an early lunch as we only had a matter of hours left before we started the long journey back to Rurrenabaque. We reluctantly loaded up the boat and took our seats for the trip back to the start of the 4 wheel drive journey back. Again we weren’t disappointed with the wildlife we saw, I can’t emphasise enough how remarkable this place is and I hope that with it being so difficult to get to, then it’s able to stay in such a pristine and undisturbed state. Bolivia is blessed with amazing landscapes and it is great to see how much of it remains untouched, long may it stay that way.

The road wasn’t too bad to start with but it soon deteriorated rapidly. This route is the main route for buses and lorries to head from Rurrenabaque to Western Brasil and we passed a whole host of vehicles well and truly stuck in the mud with very little hope of getting them out. Our driver and jeep were fantastic, we were angled at more than 45 degrees on a fair few occasions and our trusty ancient Toyota land cruiser glided through the mud with ease. Our driver only had to engage the 4 wheel drive 3 or 4
