SAN FRANCISCO & AROUND
It was fantastic heading out into the harbour, it was so cool! Everyone was in extremely good spirits and very merry by this point! We passed the boat that was in the middle of the harbour and was used for launching the fireworks - it was enormous so we figured we would be in for a real firework treat! We weren’t disappointed - the fireworks were fantastic! How lucky were we to be sat on a plush boat full of incredibly nice people in the middle of the Bay area, watching a superb firework display? A real highlight and one neither of us will ever forget. We arrived back and docked then continued the party! Rob and I stayed up with Steve and Geoff into the wee small hours and when we both woke the next morning in the bunk beds at the front of the boat we felt a little worse for wear to say the least!!!
I wanted to call Sophie as it was her birthday on the 5th. We called but couldn’t stay on
too long as Jo had to go and pick up Harry from Cricket practice, it was still good to talk to them though. Later on we climbed into the car and headed off in the direction of the Golden Gate bridge. We headed to the viewpoint and were treated to amazing views over the harbour and bridge. We then headed into Sausalito, a small town across the bay from San Francisco. It was a lovely little place and again we had good views over the harbour. We then headed back into San Francisco where we needed to get a present for Sophie then go for a final family meal as Mum and Roland were flying back the next day. Dina had booked us into a lovely Italian with the most enormous portions you have ever seen! Joe had driven over and Steve had also come along, we had a great night with some fantastic food! Unfortunately for Mum and Roland they were flying out at 7 a.m. so we got up early to wave them off as Joe was taking them to the airport.
